Why should Kenyans encourage political incitement? at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday, Moses Kuria was allegedly recorded calling for the assassination of Cord leader Raila Odinga.
The most disturbing thing is the encouragement from the 'wananchi' who hailed the Gatundu South legislator.
This is not the first time Kenyans are allowing themselves to be used by political leaders to achieve their goals. In the various political meetings held, the public has been urging their leaders on even when the message being given is incitory in nature. This is what affected the country in 2007.
Political leaders incited people who later turned against each other for the gain of their insatiable political thirst and hunger. In the long run, the 'wananchi' suffered dearly with the loss of loved ones and even property.
However, the people have failed to learn from what happened in 2007. Today, political leaders continue inciting their people who applaud and encourage the hateful messages.
If not carefully looked into, the country will fall to the 2007 abyss where people dreaded the conditions being witnessed. Political leaders should encourage peace and tranquility to help the country forge forward past general elections in the country.
