Wiper Democratic Movement Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said the Opposition led by Coalition for Democracy and Reforms (Cord) has remained true to its mandate of keeping the Jubilee administration in check.
Kalonzo accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto of vices ranging from corruption to incompetence and empty promises.
"Were it not for Cord keeping Jubilee on its toes, Kenya would be in a far much worse state than it is at the moment," said Kalonzo.
In his message to usher in the new year, Kalonzo expressed his dissatisfaction over how the country is being run by the Jubilee regime.
"It has been a period of great challenges to the people of this nation. Insecurity has plagued different parts of Kenya," said the Cord co-principal.
"Kenyans have been ravaged by rampant corruption, causing severe socioeconomic hardship to wananchi. The Eurobond and NYS scandals remain unresolved," he added.
He also castigated the government for reneging on collective bargain agreements forcing workers to boycott duty.
"We are in the throes of a crippling doctors' strike that is putting lives of many Kenyans in grave danger," he said.
The Wiper leader warned the government against placing bottlenecks to a free and fair elections, urging Kenyans to vote out Jubilee.
"I call upon all Kenyans who cherish democracy and good leadership to ensure that they register in huge numbers and elect a Wiper/Cord government," he remarked.
