Thousands of Kenyans stranded in South Sudan have appealed to the government to evacuate them as violence continues to escalate in the young nation.
Kenyans in the capital Juba, have taken to social media to appeal to the government intervene before the situation gets out of hand.
"Crying for South Sudan! I appeal to our Government to immediately expedite an emergency evacuation of our fellow Kenyans holed up in SS!" said one twitter user
More than 300 people have been killed and others displaced after fresh violence erupted last week when President Salva Kiir and his deputy Riek Machar disagreed during a meeting at State House.
Kenyans in the world's youngest nation found themselves in a tight spot last week when the national carrier Kenya Airways announced that it was temporarily suspending its flights to Juba.
“We wish to advise our guests that we have suspended flights to Juba, South Sudan due to uncertain security situation,” the airline said on its twitter account
The European Union and other humanitarian organisations have already evacuated some of their personnel to Nairobi.
