The post took a different twist when Kenyans took to social media to criticize him of failing to develop his home town's tourism sector.

Some however were on his side following the trip to Maasai Mara game reserve, saying he had the right to visit every part of the country.

The following are various comments on social media which hit over 300 comments.

“That is a clear definition of failed leadership in Garissa County. There is nothing to show for in the Tourism sector no wonder you travel all the way to Maasai Mara,” said Bashir Adow on Facebook.

“Leave him alone please. He is a Kenya with every right to visit any county of his choice,” said Ahmed Logge on Facebook.

“You are out there enjoying yourself at the expense of Kenyans yet ‘unga’ goes for Sh140 while your government promised we would buy flour at Sh60. So you guys went to look for money for celebrating in Maasai Mara,” said Eleikana Ahmed.

“My wish is that locals should give priority to our blessed Ishabini home of Hirola a unique place to be," said Yerrow Omar.
