Kenyans are set to receive free condoms today, Monday, as the world marks the International Condom Day.The National Aids Control Council (NACC) terms the campaign “pleasure with prevention”.

The council says it will also offer ordinary condoms for free, ahead of Valentine’s Day on February 14.

“The new studded condoms are free. You don’t have to spend anything in comparison to the studded condoms from private companies. We also want people to be protected as they have pleasure,” said Martin Sirengo, the Head of National AIDS & STI Control Programmes.

Sirengo said their aim is to keep with trends in lovemaking, as they seek to protect itizens from sexually transmitted diseases and infections.

The council also said it chose to donate the studded condoms as they are said to have greater sensation compared to the ordinary condoms.
