Nominated member of Uasin Gishu County Assembly Samora Machel has urged Kenyans to donate blood whenever called upon to.
He said this will help save lives of Kenyans who are critically ill or involved in road accidents.
“When you donate blood you are saving a life of someone somewhere, therefore let's develop a culture of donating blood since tomorrow it may be you or your relative. The process is faster and there is less pain, therefore, no need to fear,” he said after donating blood in Eldoret town Thursday.
“I urge all Kenyans of good will to come out in large numbers and donate blood since it is as one way of saving lives of many Kenyans who are in need of it. Blood is a key factor in propelling health of citizens of any nation especially Kenya,” he added.
He, however, wished Uasin Gishu residents a merry Christmas and happy new year and urged drivers to be careful and ensure that passengers arrive safely.
“We want to see everyone alive come 2018,” he added.
