Political analyst Daisy Amdany has called on Kenyans to come up and resist the greed of politicians in the country.

According to Amdany, the recent resentment of the salary reduction by the just elected leaders is a clear indication of greed and not the will to serve the people.

"The country must rise up and shun the greed being shown by elected leaders. The resentment by the legislators to take a salary cut is a clear indication that they are motivated by money and not the will to serve the needs of the people," said Amdany.

Amdany, however, noted that the recent resentment of SRC's recommendations by the legislators was neither dictated by political affiliation, tribe nor gender.

The analyst further criticized first-time legislators like Kiambu Women Rep Gathoni Wa Muchomba who she believes should concentrate more on structuring plans for serving the people in the long run and not their salary.

"It is further sad to see first time legislators reject the salary cut considering that they have not even  been in office. It is also good to note that the legislators are talking in unison without consideration of one's political affiliation, tribe or even gender," added Amdany.

Amdany made the remarks on NTV's Sidebar show on Wednesday where she reminded the legislators that leadership is not an avenue for enriching themselves.
