“Kenyans from all walks of life should set their efforts in building and praying for the nation in the year 2015,” said Maina.

He further noted that the challenges facing the nation would be solved by working hard, and fighting terrorism together as a nation.

“Peace is the key element in any stable nation, and Kenyans should cultivate the habit of being peace-lovers,” added Maina.

Speaking on Wednesday at Kiambu Town during the ushering in of the New Year 2015, Maina urged Kenyans to give peace the first priority.

“Without peace, no meaningful development can take place, the issue of peace should be focused on seriously,” he noted.

Maina also urged Kenyans to work hard to break the shackles of poverty, saying there is no shortcut to poverty elimination other than working hard.

He urged leaders to cultivate the highest level of integrity in all spheres of social endeavors, saying lack of integrity is the greatest enemy of development progress in a country.

“I urge leaders to have integrity in their dispensation of their duties and live to the expectation of public. Lack of integrity among the leaders is the root cause of all man-made troubles in a country,” noted the clergyman.
