Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has challenged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to assure Kenyans of free and fair polls ahead of the 2017 general elections.
Speaking on Thursday during a meet-the-people tour in Machakos and Makueni counties, Musyoka said Kenyans are not ready for "another rigged election" presided over by the electoral body.
“It’s good that the IEBC understands Kenyans are not ready to take another stolen election anymore,” he said.
The former Vice President further challenged IEBC to consider leasing the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) machines, arguing that this will save Kenyans a lot of money and time compared to procuring them.
“We can make elections very cheap if we lease these machines instead of engaging in the long process of procurement,” he said.
