Deputy President William Ruto has said the October 26 fresh poll gives Kenyans an opportunity to prove the opposition leader wrong.
“They told us that Kisii and Nyamira are opposition strongholds but with the August 8 polls, the residents proved them wrong,” said the Deputy President on Thursday during a tour of the region.
“In the August polls we defeated him (Raila) with 1.4 million votes. This time round he will lose with 3 million votes,” he added.
Other leaders from Nyamira who joined the Jubilee Party included Fred Makamara and George Marara who assured the President of their support in mobilising votes for him.
Addressing another rally at Gesima, President Uhuru Kenyatta thanked residents for voting for Jubilee MPs.
“Our main aim is to serve you. Our focus is development. We do not want quarrels and tribal politics,” said the president.
DP Ruto asked Nyamira residents to vote for the Jubilee administration because it is committed to implementing development projects that are transforming the lives of Kenyans.
“We are telling those we are competing with that the Supreme Court said the fresh election will be managed by IEBC. They should not play games with us,” said the deputy president.
