At Nyamira Primary grounds on Friday, Nyaribo represented ailing governor John Nyagarama, who is out of the country for medical checkup.

While jetting out of the country, Nyagarama handed over officially to his deputy, who has now been executing gubernatorial roles.

In the event, Nyaribo, who is also serving his second term, was accorded treatment of a sitting governor including reading a speech.

However, in Nyagarama's absence, Nyaribo has been accused of acting beyond his powers with certain employees accusing him of violating article 179(5) of the constitution.

Some of the employees who have been dismissed thus creating controversy include County Secretary Eric Onchana and Deputy Chief Of Staff Kepha Mocheche.

But in history since 2013, Nyaribo would remain the only deputy governor who has ever presided over a national function in the capacity of the acting governor.
