Tanzania midfielder Abdalla Hamisi has issued a word of caution to Kenya’s Harambee Stars ahead of the highly anticipated CECAFA tournament.
Hamisi who plays in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) with Sony Sugar FC expressed his confidence in his team’s ability to go far in the tournament. He also highlighted his familiarity with the Kenyan style of play stating that he has played against a majority of the players in the league.
"Playing against some of their players week in week out gives me a glimpse of what to expect during our match and that is some edge. They have good players across the pitch but we are ready to topple them and this can only be achieved if we play as a team. Our focus though is our opening match against Libya which we want to win," Abdala said.
Kenya who last won the title in 2013 will be looking to reclaim their former glory in December when the tournament kicks off.
Kenya who has been put in group A with Tanzania Rwanda, Libya and Zanzibar will be based in Kisumu.
