Kenya's leading communication service provider, Safaricom has been listed by research firm Ipsos Synovate as the country’s most influential brand in 2015.
The latest development is according to a survey done to 100 brands which were appraised and classified across 21 countries in the world.
The most influential brands ranked by positioned were at number two M-Pesa three, Citizen TV(4) Radio Citizen (5), Colgate (6), Facebook (7), Omo (8) Ariel washing detergent (9), Kenya Power(10) and Equity Bank.
In some other reports by Africa Brand Index website, Airtel Kenya is ranked the best telecom brand on social media use of Facebook and twitter to engage customers on its activities. The study was arrived at through measured by an aggregate score of other use of social media signals.
Joyce Viata, a Nakuru-based public relations officer, points out that, “Knowing your customers can help you increase, loyalty and profits in your business if you appeal to their motivation, values, beliefs, and sentiments to convince them so. It is such appeals that influences customers to think or act in a particular way”
She further attributes the latest report by Ipsos to customer loyalty which she discloses that, “Customers are important to any product’s bottom line because repeat customers often spend more money, generate larger transactions, refer more customers, and buy a broader range of products.”
In Africa, Kenya and Nigeria are the only sub-Saharan countries included in the study by the research firm of which 36,000 people were interviewed all over the world.
