The Enterprise Cup is Kenya’s longest running tournament, having started in 1930.
The tournament is normally played after the conclusion of the Kenya Cup season, and this season’s matches will begin after the Friday’s draw.
The draw is scheduled for Friday afternoon in Nairobi. KCB is the defending champions, after beating Kabras Sugar in last year’s finals to clinch the title.
The bankers are the most successful team in recent seasons, having won the title three times in a row over the past three seasons.
Other teams that have done well in the recent past Harlequins FC and Impala RFC.
However, Nondescripts RFC (24 times) tops the list of most wins, with Impala RFC (10), Kenya Harlequin FC (8), Nakuru RFC (6), KCB (5) Eldoret RFC (7), Kampala RFC (4) and Mwamba RFC (4) in that order.
The Enterprise Cup, in standing the test of time, is the backbone of rugby competition in the region and has continued to nurture talents over time.
The cup was formerly known as East Africa Inter-District Championship as teams from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda used to participate.
