Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli intends to marry his next wife from Kenya, opposition chief Raila Odinga has revealed.
Raila who was speaking during celebrations to mark Madaraka Day at Kinoru stadium in Meru said the Tanzanian leader is so in love with women from the Ameru community and may actually pick his next wife from the community.
"Magufuli has called me and told me to convey his greetings to Kenyans especially for the people in Meru," he said in his address during the event attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
"He has said he will return here and take away another girl from Meru."
Raila is a close friend to Magufuli and to affirm their closeness, Magufuli attended the Orange Democratic Movement presidential candidate nominations in Nairobi during preparations for the 2013 general elections. The now Tanzanian head of State came donning ODM's official Orange colors.
In the run-up to the August 8, 2017 general polls the ruling Jubilee party accused Magufuli of supporting Raila by allowing the former prime minister to establish a parallel vote tallying center in Tanzania.
The tallying center is said to have been established following claims by Raila that Jubilee had planned to rig the election in favor of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
