For the second day in succession President Uhuru Kenyatta had yet again another day to forget in Gusii after ODM youths gave him a nightmare when addressing his supporters in Nyanturago-Kisii County.
On Tuesday at Nyamira, Kenyatta was forced to prematurely end his speech after a group of youths started chanting pro-NASA slogans during a leaders meeting at Viongozi resort.
And in a similar twist of events, youths believed to supporters of opposition leader Raila Odinga jeered a host of Jubilee leaders in Nyanturago forcing the Head of State to hastily leave the scene after a short speech.
Trouble begun when MP Richard Tong’i and Senator Chris Obure stood to speak with the locals giving those hard times.
Both Obure and Tong’i are lading campaigners of Jubilee Party from the region with Obure poised to run for governorship on the President’s party.
Only Charles Nyachae, who is running for senator managed to address the angry crowd before inviting Mr. Kenyatta.
“We must be tolerant to each other and appreciate our diversity,” Uhuru, who was visibly embarrassed with the turnout of events, said.
But the president’s tour generally remained calm when he toured Kisii University and Gusii stadium where he warned opposition leaders against inciting Kenyans.
“We cannot allow a repeat of 2007 events. Those propagating propaganda must be ready to face the government,” Uhuru said.
