The Kenyatta National Hospital has denied claims that that fourteen infants in incubators at the facility died on Wednesday September 13 as a result of a power outage.
The claims were made by controversial blogger Robert Alai.
"14 infants in incubator died at KNH yesterday because power went off and the hospital doesn't have a back-up generator #WhyKenyaWhy?," Alai wrote.
But the institution moved in to dispute Alai#s tweet as false.
"No baby has died as a result of the alleged power blackout. KNH has four generators to serve critical areas among them Newborn Unit as well as Intensive Care Unit (ICU)," the hospital said.
"KNH did not experience power blackout. Please treat the information as an unfounded lie," KNH addd.
Kenyatta National Hospital is Kenya's top referral and teaching institution.
