President Uhuru Kenyatta could not hide his joy after ‘agreeing’ for the first time with opposition leader Raila odinga.

The two supremos have been at loggerheads which have occasionally degenerated to political insults and fierce rivalry among their supporters.

In a rare show of solidarity on Monday during Nderitu Gachagua’s funeral, the two leaders skipped political debates and addressed issues affecting county assemblies.

“Today we have made history. I rarely agree with Raila but on this one, I fully support his remarks. This is historical,” said a jovial Uhuru.

He added: ‘it is useless for MCAs to block budgets and stagnate development in counties. We must move forward as a country.”

And in his remarks, Odinga who was given a standing ovation came into the defense of pioneer governors adding that they should be given time.

“Devolution is a concept which I believe cannot fail. It is a new thing and that is why we have faced challenges. Support these governors and help them realize their objectives,” he said.

Although Odinga is yet to be conformed opposition NASA flag bearer, sources within the coalition intimates that he will be unveiled later this month.
