Kenyatta Primary School in Makongeni, Thika on Thursday received a 3,000-litre plastic water tank ahead of the El~Nino rains.
The tank donated by Mia Africa Sacco Limited is another facelift to the school after it was repainted by the same organisation together with other partners two months ago.
The founder and chairman of the Sacco Sam Chege alias MC Sam said that he and other like-minded partners are committed to uplifting the standards of education in the area.
"This is just a part of a long series of programmes that we have initiated to help the school-going children in the whole of Kamenu Ward. Boosting education is the only best way we can give back to the society," said Chege.
Chege intimated that they will soon be launching a programme dubbed 'Kamenu Education Sponsorship Programme' aimed at helping needy children in the area acquire education.
"Last month we sponsored a girl from Gachagini Slums through a harambee to go to Maasai Mara University after she was unable to raise fees. That is why we need a programme where such kids can be taken care of and helped to achieve their dreams," he said.
