Onyonka on Monday warned the president against his friends whom he alleged are misleading him.

He alleged that the friends of Uhuru have links with the Al Shabaab militia and called on him to screen them and have genuine people who have goodwill for the country.

The legislator demanded Uhuru to compensate the deceased families of the Garissa University College attack so that they can resume their normal life.

"I advise Uhuru to look into his dad's notebook and know how he led Kenya. He must know his friends because some of them have links with Al Shabaab. He must tell them to stop killing innocent Kenyans," pointed Onyonka.

The MP accused the Jubilee administration of propagating tribalism by appointing officials based on their tribes.

"Uhuru and Ruto are encouraging tribalism by employing officers from their tribes. They should know that Kenya is made of more than 40 tribes and not two that they are working for at the moment," said Onyonka.

A section of Kisii County leaders have analysed the Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka over recent attack on the government over the security issue.

Some argue that the MP has been silent for a while and he has risen up after he was named in the list of shame handed to President Kenyatta containing alleged corrupt individuals in the country.

“Onyonka has lost the political game. He betrayed his political boat ODM and hid under Jubilee, but because his expectation has hit snag, he has started barking at the government,” argued Samuel Omwando, a Kitutu Chache politician who lost to Onyonka in the 2013 parliamentary election.

He added, “He has woken up because he has been included in the list of corruption. Let him carry his own cross without engaging anybody.”

On his side, Kitutu Chache North and long-term rival to Onyonka, Jimmy Angwenyi, said the MP thought he could be spared by hiding to Jubilee and asked him to clear his name if he believes he has never engaged in any corruption practice.

“He should not blame anybody for being corrupt. Let him clear his name before the court, and if he will be found culpable, that will be his personal business,” Angwenyi said.

This comes a week later, when Onyonka accused the Jubilee administration of tribalism and corruption; during the interdenominational prayer service at Gusii Stadium for the Garissa fallen students from Kisii County.

Kisii County Senator Chris Obure and Onyonka are some of the officials who were named in the Ethics and Anti-corruption report that was handed to President Kenyatta a month ago.
