President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned NASA leader Raila Odinga and his supporters that they need to start airing their grievances using the right channels.
Speaking during the late Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru’s burial in his Kirichu home, Kenyatta said the government will not allow individuals to break the law.
In reference to Friday’s chaos where many traders lost property and many Kenyans lost their lives, Kenyatta noted that his government will crack the whip and contain such occurrences.
“We will not allow a few people to destroy our country. We have a Constitution and we are a nation that is governed by rules and laws and we must all abide by it, and asking people to respect that is not going overboard. We shall demand that we must continue to be a nation that is guided by a Constitution and lives by the rule of law,” said President Kenyatta.
Many Nairobi traders were left counting losses after Friday’s happenings, with both the government and the NASA coalition pointing blaming fingers at one another.
