Mr Tobiko recently declared logging illegal in the country in an attempt to conserve the environment owing to the drought that has hit the country.

This is one of the moves taken by the government to enforce a three-month moratorium recently imposed by Deputy President William Ruto.

In a move to bring changes in the management of forests around Nairobi country, the former DPP has today ordered the replacement of all the forest officers manning major forests around Nairobi county.

According to the Environment  CS, the officers to be replaced seem unsuitable to work in the various stations hit by the new management changes.

Tobiko directed the Chairperson of Kenya Forest Services to immediately replace all KFS officers currently deployed at the Kibiku, Ololua, Thogoto and Ngong Road forest stations.

According to Keriako Tobiko, the move to replace the forest officers was motivated by the massive distraction that has been going in the forests.

"Due to the massive destruction of forest resources ,i today directed the Chairman,Kenya Forest Services(KFS) and the Chief Conservator of Forests, to immediately replace all KFS officers currently deployed at the Kibiku, Ololua, Thogoto and Ngong Road," the Environment CS said on Sunday.

"The government is conscious of the urgent need to provide remedial action and resources to save our forestry resources," Tobiko added.
