The CS took the move after doctors at the Kenyatta National hospital performed a brain surgery on the wrong patient.

Making the announcement, Ms  Kariuki said that Mrs. Koros and an officer in charge of clinical affairs will have to stay at home until the probe is over.

"I apologise over patient mix-up at KNH, I have directed that KNH CEO be sent on compulsory leave until the probe is over," said Kariuki

Supporting the CEO who hails from Kericho county, Senator Aaron Cheruiyot said that the decision to suspend Mrs Koros was misguided and it came because Lily Koros was against the aims of different cartels who are targeting the hospital.

"We all know that KNH is one of the implementing agents of president Uhuru Kenyatta's Big4. We are told Koross is one of the hardest nuts to crack who has made it difficult for cartels to operate at the facility. All these scandals we are seeing are aimed at spearheading her ouster," said Cheruyoiy.

He also added that the CS is new in her docket and her actions are a sign of weakness an incompetent leadership.

"We want to tell madam Kariuki that knee-jerk reactions are a sign of weakness, cluelessness, inept and incompetent leadership. She has barely settled into her new docket and she doesn't even understand what is happening yet she has the audacity to walk at KNH and command Koross to step aside?" said Cheruiyot.

The leaders were addressing a press conference at the county headquarters in Kericho.
