It's so shocking and embarrassing when Kericho leadership decided to defend Lily Koros based on tribal sentiments publicly.
All Kericho leaders were elected on a Jubilee ticket, the action taken by Cabinet secretary Sicily Kariuki is a government decision on dealing with an outcry from a regional referral facility.
Simply, the action taken by the minister was in all fairness, CEO Lily Koros and Clinical Service Director Dr Benard Githae had to go on a compulsory leave to enable internal audit of the system so as to give a full report on the allegations then the minister can give a final decision on the matter.
Instead of the legislators focusing on the press and issuing empty threats of reinstatement, they should consider the use of diplomacy as one way.
Together as county leaders, they should seek audience with the minister and present their view and political consequences if any and agree on way forward; Two, use their powers on the floor of the parliament, summon the minister and let her take the responsibility; or lastly they should have directly or indirectly sought the judicial redress.
So this issue of running to the press won't help, we know you have raised a "genuine" concern to one individual, Lily Koros, then how about Dr Githae (the other house are not even talking about their own).
The press supported by public opinion has little effect in this country and I believe there is a better idea on solving the issue otherwise we as Kalenjin are aware that you defended Lily Koros but then the big question is what next?
