KVDA managing Director David Kimosop and EPC Chief Executive Officer Peter Biwot on Wednesday held a meeting to discuss on areas of possible partnership.

Addressing the press after the meeting, Kimosop as the region has a great potential of producing products for export.

"We held a lengthy discussion on how the region can benefit from exports since we have farmers doing flowers and vegetables especially in our irrigation projects that can be exported," said the KVDA managing director.

"We want to see how EPC can partner with us to look at the viable opportunities to export. We have agreed to work on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Collaboration areas and crops to target so that we begin encouraging farmers to venture into," he added.

On his part, EPC CEO Peter Biwott lamented that the country's export growth has been low for the past three years.

He however expressed confidence that the growth will be higher once the partnership with KVDA is actualised.

"We Want to take advantage of KVDA partnership with counties to grow our exports as we understand that to achieve a surplus to ensure export growth we need partners and business people to move forward," said Biwot who said the country's export has only grown by 1.4 per cent in the last three years.
