Following the disputes at the Keroka border town has seen locals involve themselves in a rat race with the police officers leaving a number of businesses abandoned.

Jacob Oino a businessman says the environment is not conducive for business forcing him to close down. He is opting to relocate his business to a different location.

“My business has been paralysed since the chaos erupted. I fear losing out if this continues although I am planning of relocating,” said Oino.

Most businesses have been forced to close down due to the disputes at the border town.

“Business is very poor we are forced to close in case of riots. The police and the locals engage in running battles. The situation does not favor business,” said Martha Oteki.

Others fear they won’t meet their expected targets making it hard to pay their debt.

“I am afraid I have made a few sales this month. I don’t know if I will be able to pay my workers and rent for my stall,” said Jackline Ongwae.

They now want the border dispute settled urgently to restore business back to normal.
