The leaders have said the border controversy is robbing the Keroka residents' right to access public service, and thus slowing down development in the area.

Speaking on Tuesday after residents of the two counties clashed over tax collection, Masira called on the leadership of the two counties to resolve the stalemate immediately.

"It is important for the two governors (James Ongwae of Kisii County and John Nyagarama of Nyamira County) to sit and settle this dispute once and for all," Masira said.

"This dispute has been existent for long enough, and in my honest opinion, if it isn't settled in time, it is going to hurt development in Keroka," he added.

The Leader of Majority's sentiments were reiterated by Bogichora ward MCA Beuttah Omanga.

The clashes left three people seriously injured.
