Residents of Keroka town in Nyamira County are living in fear following rising cases of criminal activities in the area.
This comes after a 48-year-old business man was found murdered in cold blood in the town.
The late, Vincent Ratemo is said to have been attacked by a gang that was armed with machetes while on his way home from his shop in the company of Zabled Aganyo, who was left with severe injuries from the attack and rushed to Tenwek Mission Hospital for treatment.
The area residents led by politicians Victor Swanya and Dominic Matoke, while speaking in the town called on the police to conduct thorough investigations into the attacks, and bring the perpetrators to book.
“It is not the first time we are hearing of criminal attacks on innocent residents of Keroka and we are condemning these attacks. We are also calling on the police to do serious investigations and bring the attackers to book,” said Swanya.
The two called on area OCPD and the District commissioner to find a solution to the problem, and also provide security to the residents.
The area Chief, Kennedy Ndege confirming the incident said that they have already arrested a bodaboda operator suspected to have committed the crime after he was found with blood stained clothes in his house.
