The people of Keroka are optimistic that the visit from top government officials will put to an end the bitter disputes at the border which have dragged on for months.
This is after Uhuru and Ruto visited Kisii and Nyamira Counties.
“We are now optimistic that the stalemate that has been a headache to us over the past months will now be solved. We now since the president and his deputy toured the region; we expect the matter to be taken up by the national government,” said Alice Nyambega, a business woman.
They accuse their leaders of incompetence, saying they have taken advantage of the matter, politicized it to attain political mileage.
“Our own leaders have proved incompetent in addressing the border row. We have waited long enough with enormous meetings being held which has no significance since it is yielding no fruits. We know with the president touring the region the issue will be addressed once and for all,” said Andrew Wemali.
