Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr was on Sunday full of praise for his side after they outclassed Zanzibar side Jeshi la Kujenga Uchumi (JKU) 3-0 in the ongoing Sportpesa Super Cup tournament at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
The visibly delighted tactician lauded the Kenyan champions for their unrelenting spirit noting that Gor began the match on a low but ended up living up to his expectations.
"We started the game very slowly and picked rhythm after about 15 minutes. But credit goes to the boys because it is tough psychologically to play a game like that against a team that is not playing a competitive league in Zanzibar but they gave it a go and that's what you want from your players," he said in his post-match interview.
Goals from George Odhiambo 'BlackBerry', Godfrey Walusimbi and Meddie Kagere were enough to send the defending champions into the semi-finals where they are likely to face either AFC Leopards or Tanzanian giants Simba FC.
The winner of the 8-day bonanza will earn an opportunity to square it out with English premier league side Everton FC at the Goodison Park, a feat that Kerr said he can't wait to achieve.
