Despite going down 0-1 to league champions Gor Mahia on Saturday,Kakamega Homeboyz earned rare accolades from K'Ogallos tactician Dylan Kerr over their fighting spirit.

Homeboyz who were reduced to ten men minutes before the first half when Wycliffe Ochomo received his marching orders put up a spirited fight and only conceded once despite being a man down.

It is on this account that the Englishman hailed the team urging them to continue with the resilience.

"It was an even game to be honest,Homeboyz played really well even after the red card which I feel was a bit harsh because I don't think it was an intentional elbow on Shakava inside the penalty box.We saw the incident but the referee did not and Shakava being a young player also needs to control his temper", he said.

" At half time I told my players to play like they were up against eleven men and I asked them to pass the ball and move forward and I believe we played well in the second half", he added.

Homeboyz who are currently placed sixth on the log will be hoping to surge into the top five with a win to surprise package Nzoia Sugar in their last match of the season.
