The meeting was called to arrive at unanimity on harmonization of the projects being implemented by the Kisumu County government and National government.

This has been a lacking component that has led to duplication of responsibilities that only serves to open avenues for pilferages of public resources.

"We must always strive to work as a team to deliver the much needed services to the citizens and in a cost effective manner," said Thomas Ondijo, the Public Works, Roads and Transport CeC on Friday.

The meeting resolved that KeRRA will remove from their program roads that have already been advertised by the County Government.

Further, a proposal was advanced to come up with a long lasting policy of the engagement between the two levels of government that will be presented to cabinet and finally approved at the County Assembly.

Ondijo informed the meeting that evaluation exercise for 57 KURA roads projects being implemented by the County is complete and the winning firms will be receiving their award letters in the course of the coming week.

The political leadership present led by Dr. James Nyikal, the MP for Seme, lauded the project and affirmed that they will offer all the necessary political support for such development agenda.

Present at the meeting were Eng. Kenneth Ochieng' Regional Manager KERRA, Eng. Samson Obunga Director of Roads Kisumu County, local MCAs and Kisumu County Officials.
