Lawyer Kethi Kilonzo has asked Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to sit back and reflect on whether his fight to be sworn in alongside Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga will end electoral injustice in this nation. In an opinion piece, Kethi, who is the daughter of the late Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo and sister to the current senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior said that the two leaders need to reconsider the push.

“Raila Odinga, a Democrat, and Kalonzo Musyoka, an advocate of many years standing, must pause and reflect on whether the birth pangs of a constitutional injustice will lead to the birth of electoral justice,” she said.

The renowned lawyer also said that the President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto need to think about the welfare of Kenyans following the August election. She further said that Kenya is a democratic nation, adding that the will of the people must be respected at all costs.

“A democracy is a government by the people, of the people and for the people. Electoral justice cannot be wished away. Any democracy that does not respect the principle of “one man one vote,” is ultimately bound to fail,” she said.
