Lawyer Kethi Diana Kilonzo has asked Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka not to break ranks with NASA leader Raila Odinga.
The lawyer argues that Kalonzo needs Raila’s in his 2022 presidential bid and future political ambitions.
According to the lawyer who represented Raila in his 2013 presidential petition against Jubilee, Kalonzo cannot make any impact without the help of the former Prime Minister.
Kethi said that Kalonzo’s absence at Raila’s Tuesday inauguration at Uhuru Park was a blunder.
“It came as a surprise as many us did not think of something like that could happen at the last minute,” she said during a briefing with journalists at Milimani Law Courts on Thursday.
Kethi, however, asked NASA supporters and politicians to stop condemning the Wiper leader.
She argued criticism being targeted against Kalonzo is unwarranted, adding that his explanation for skipping the Tuesday coronation should be considered.
The lawyer asked NASA leaders to remain united saying that any acts of disunity and mistrust will stall their electoral reforms agenda.
The former Vice President has been receiving criticism for snubbing Raila’s swearing on Tuesday. Kalonzo, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula disappeared minutes to Raila’s swearing-in at Uhuru Park.
The three leaders have however defended their absence insisting that they are still committed to NASA reforms agenda.
On Thursday during a presser at OKOA Kenya offices, Kalonzo was captured on camera weeping after Raila Odinga said that an alleged attack on his home on Tuesday night shocked his ailing wife.
Kalonzo says that he is ready to be sworn in as Raila’s deputy, adding that they will remain united in their pursuit of electoral justice.
