Lawyer Kethi Kilonzo has called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to ensure that Kenyans are governed with impartiality.
In an opinion piece, Kethi opines that all Kenyans deserve to be given equal treatment regardless of their tribe, social status, political ideologies and religion among other aspects.
She further reminded the government to protect and respect the Judiciary in all capacities.
“The Jubilee government must also start governing with impartiality. It must treat all Kenyans, particularly those who challenge it or its decisions in court, as standing in the same position regardless of their political beliefs or affiliation,” she argues.
Kethi, the daughter of the later Senator Mutula Kilonzo, also asked the government not to discriminate or penalize anyone who opposes its rule.
She added that Kenyans have a democratic right to vote as well as express their political thoughts in different forums.
“Citizens should not be penalised or discriminated against because of their participation in the electoral process, their voting history, their association with a political party or their expression of political views,” she adds.
