The ODM National Executive Committee met on Thursday to structure the party as it kick-starts preparations for the 2017 polls.
The party has of recent faced numerous challenges accruing from the departure of some party members to the Jubilee coalition.
Apart from the recent resignations of party Secretary General Ababu Namwamba and national Vice Chairman Paul Otuoma, the orange party had earlier on suffered another blow following the resignation of youth leader Rashid Mohammed who defected to Amani National Congress.
Earlier on however, the ODM Youth League officials met and recommended that John Ketora takes over the youth league leadership.
The resolution was communicated to the NEC on Thursday which gave Ketora a go-ahead to become ODM Youth League chair.
During the NEC meeting, Mr Ketorah was officially approved to assume the position.
"The NEC approved the election of John Ketora as the ODM Youth League Leader by the OYL NEC," a statement by ODM said.
The meeting was chaired by Cord leader Raila Odinga.
