Pushing for electoral reforms in Africa and setting 'record straight' on the current political impasse in Kenya will dominate Raila Odinga's meeting with US Congress, says Philip Etale.

Odinga, who was scheduled to travel in Sunday evening, is yet to depart and sources say he will be leaving on Monday night and would address the Congress within this week.

"Raila is a Panafricanist and he has nothing to hide. His speech will majorly focus on electoral reforms in Africa particularly in Kenya," Etale wrote in an ODM Whatsapp Group.

The US Congress comprises of the Senate and the House of Representatives and only high ranking leaders  especially Heads of States with reputable record  gets a rare chance of addressing, or meeting its members.

Previously, President Uhuru Kenyatta has accused Odinga of working with external forces to overthrow his government a claim that Etale dismisses.

"He will focus on strengthening of democracy in Africa and other developing countries besides elaborating on the simmering Kenyan political crisis," he said.

Despite managing to petition Uhuru's victory in August, Odinga withdrew from the race iting lack of reforms in the electoral body, IEBC.

Since then, he has embarked on a charm offensive against Jubilee administration with civil disobedience being on top of his strategy.

Currently, several African countries are embroiled in political quagmire among them South Sudan, Mali, Cameroon and Kenya being the latest.
