Barely a day after ODM senators knocked off Moses Wetang’ula from the influential Minority Leader in the Senate, a crisis meeting has been convened to deliberate on the future of the NASA coalition.

Wetangula’s ouster and subsequent replacing by Siaya Senator James Orengo, a key confidant of Raila Odinga amplifying talk of divorce in NASA.

“Before I seat on the seat, I have to give space to the coalition, all of the four principals to deliberate on this,” said Orengo on Tuesday during a live interview.

Key allies of the other co-principals claim they see a shadow of Odinga lurking in the recent decision at the senate, and any meeting convened to deliberate on the state of the coalition was insincere.

The key issue in today, Thursday’s meeting is whether Orengo’s election will be ratified, or whether Wetangula will be reinstated as demanded by principals Musyoka and Mudavadi.

ANC, Wiper and Ford Kenya Parties have threatened to dissolve the NASA coalition, saying Odinga’s ODM has been running the show without them.

This was made worse when they accused Odinga of making plans of agreement with president Kenyatta without their knowledge.
