All is set at the Supreme Court as the hearing of the presidential petition gets underway today, Tuesday.

The hearing of the three cases will kick off with the judges convening early morning for a pre-trial conference, where the parties will present names of the lead counsel, and agree on the times to be allocated to each party for oral submissions.

Monday was the last day for those who wanted to be admitted as friends of the court, with Ekuru Aukot of Thirdway Alliance being the first to file to be included in the case.

Attorney General Githu Muigai and Law Society of Kenya are among the other parties who made an application to be included in the case.

Issues to be determined on the cases will be on the agenda as well, with the IEBC having a frame for issues for determination.

The IEBC wants the court to declare that it conducted the fresh polls within the strict confinement of the laws and that president Kenyatta was duly elected as the president in the October polls.

The commission also wants the court to declare that there is no nomination in the fresh presidential elections.

President Kenyatta on the other hands wants the court to declare that there is no case and that he was elected fairly.

NASA wants the court to declare that the presidential election was not free and fair and that there should be a fresh election.

The court has three days to hear and determine the three cases.
