After presiding over the controversial swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga as the People's President in January, Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang was on Tuesday arraigned in Court and charged with treason for administering an 'illegal' oath.
The Ruaraka lawmaker was accompanied by his team of lawyers led by Homa Bay MP Peter Kaluma among others and Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang who is also his brother.
The vocal lawmaker who alongside deported lawyer Miguna Miguna swore in the former Prime Minister during the January 30 event at Uhuru Park, was arrested in February as the government cracked the whip.
After recording statement, he was released. But the government thereafter went for firebrand lawyer-cum politician Miguna Miguna and after being held for several days, his fate was sealed as he was deported to Canada. His several attempts to return to Kenya have failed amid controversy surrounding his citizenship.
The case haunting CJ Kajwang, as he later caller himself, may after all not go anywhere especially after the famous Uhuru-Raila handshake seeking to heal the country after the divisive 2017 presidential election that culminated in Raila's swearing-in.
