Where does acne come from?
The skin has sebaceous glands which are oil-producing glands. These glands are more active on the face, upper part of the chest and the back. Hormonal activity stimulates the glands which leads to an over-supply of oils. They clog up the pores.
Subsequently, pimples form. This is due to pressure created since the oil can't get out.
This kind of hormonal activity can be noticed during adolescence, menstrual cycles and pregnancy.
There are many forms of treatment for acne and medications to deal with acne.Avoid make-up that closes up your pores. Use water-based products since they're easy to remove with soap and water. Make a habit of washing your face gently with water once or twice a day.
For extreme cases of acne, see a dermatologist.
