A section of Nakuru residents is elated about the coming of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlet in the area.
Already, plans are underway with a banner of the outlet at the Westside Mall.
The outlet joins the increased number of outlets that are sprouting in the area.
Already plans are underway to construct the second Java outlet at CK Patel building.
Excited residents pointed out that the outlets would create a nice place to relax as families.
“We have been enjoying the outlets in Nairobi while desiring our own outlets. It’s unfortunate that the county residents have been deprived of the chicken and chips which are not only cheap and affordable,” said Josephine Koech.
She pointed out that the hotel would be located in an ideal outlet and hence attract many tourists who are on transit to Western Kenya.
Esther Kimani, a business lady, hoped that they will contract the local business people to supply the commodities that were needed.
“We have many people who raise chicken and sell potatoes and we hope that they can engage some of us as distributors,:” she added
Hellen Waithera appealed to the organisations to employ locals citing that the upcoming outlets should stem the poverty and unemployment in the area.
“Many of us are suffering from unemployment and they should be able to ensure that they give the residents the first priority in their vacancies,” she added.
