The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua has congratulated the move by Coastal Regional Coordinator Mr Nelson Marwa to have indecent clubs and unlicensed video dens closed.

On a post on his Facebook page on Friday evening, Mutua reiterated that the move by Marwa is a step towards restoring moral values.

Mutua further noted that police have the overall duty of enforcing all laws and anyone involved in illegal filming activities, operating strippers clubs and admitting children must be dealt with ruthlessly and the businesses closed.

"Last Saturday I called a meeting of security agencies in Mombasa under the County Commissioner's office and asked them to close the indecent clubs and all unlicensed video dens. I am happy to see that the Coast Regional Coordinator Mr. Nelson Marwa has moved swiftly to enforce the law. KFCB does not have prosecutorial powers. The police have the overall duty of enforcing all laws in the country and it's gratifying to see this kind of collective anger and resolve.

The Board has asked the police to raid all unlicensed video dens across the country. Anyone involved in illegal filming activities must be arrested and those operating strippers clubs and admitting children must be dealt with ruthlessly and the businesses closed," read part of the post.

The CEO also said that KFCB will train security officers in a bid to equip them on how enforce the law.

"KFCB will train security officers and help them to enforce the law. Thank you Mr. Marwa for taking action," added Mutua.

Mutua however castigated the media for what he termed as trying to 'twist' the whole story to look like Mr. Marwa was throwing shades at KFCB for complacency.
