KFCB Mombasa County head Bonventure Kioko said Mombasa matatu operators have defied the directive to stop showing porn movies and adult music in public service vehicles warning that anyone found contravening the regulation will face the law.

He said adult content should be screened in specific areas only domiciled by people aged above the age of 18.

"We have said this before and we want to say it again as KFCB, that you can ignore our cancel but remember the law will catch up with you," Kioko said.

He was speaking in Mombasa when officials from KFCB conducted a crackdown on PSV vehicles showing content banned by the film regulatory body on Monday afternoon.

Kioko spoke two months after KFCB propsed that a licence fee of Sh2,000 should be slapped on matatu operators who want to play video music in the Coastal town.

"Those tuning to radio stations will be held personally responsible because PSVs are not broadcasters," Mutua said on February 8 as quoted by Busines Daily.

"If they want to become broadcasters they should go to the Communications Authority of Kenya and obtain licences."
