Passengers in a 14-seater PSV plying Mtwapa Ferry route called KFCB and reported that the Matatu was playing pornographic videos to the chagrin of mixed company passengers.
Their complaints fell on deaf ears prompting them to raise their grievances with the Ezekiel Mutua-led Board on Sunday February 4.
On Monday morning, the Board with help from the police arrested the driver and touts and impounded the Matatu - KAZ 194Z.
"They shall be arraigned in court in line with the law," said KFCB, and further encouraged Kenyans to report such cases to the Board for necessary action.
"Don't be cowed or held at ransom by uncouth and mannerless public service vehicle operatives. Public service vehicles are not broadcasters. If they intent to air any content, then they must have the same approved by the Board for age suitability."
"Generally, content in such public service vehicle should be suitable for family viewing or listening. Let us all work together to bring sanity back in Kenya," the Board said in a communication.
