Kenya Ferry Services (KFS) is in the process of looking for competent firm thst will be tasked with providing a cashless billing and payment management system.
The new system is set to be rolled out in all toll collection points in Mombasa.
The planned system is aimed at enhancing administrative accountability and cut revenue leakage.
The bidding is set to end this month.
“The proposed system is expected to improve revenue collection performance while making the company competitive in providing services.
It is further expected to provide systems that will enhance and assure that revenues are safe, secure, reliable and have an audit trail,” said KFS in a notice in media Tuesday.
“Firms bidding must provide curriculum vitae for lead consultants and other experts.” KFS’ mandate includes managing ferry services in Kenya and associated links in East Africa.
Currently, KFS operates six ferries at the Likoni channel in Mombasa, serving about 6,000 motorists and over 300,000 pedestrians daily.
