Joe Ruhu was also named the interim national chairman.

Party leader Moses Wetangula had chaired a meeting of the National Executive Committee and the Parliamentary Group where the replacements were made.

Several positions had been left vacant following the decamping of Msambweni MP Khatib Mwashetani, Turkana senator John Munyes and Turkana East MP Nicholas Ng’ikor to the newly formed Jubilee Party.

“There is absolutely no vacuum. We are in the process of filling the other vacant positions,” said he party’s secretary general Eseli Simiyu.

Ford Kenya had earlier threatened to write to the office of Registrar of Political Parties to notify them of the defections and demand that their political positions be termed vacant.
