Former Kakakmega senator Boni Khalwale has attacked Machakos governor Dr. Afred Mutua. The vocal senator asked the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate Governor Mutua for ‘conning’ Kenyans by beautifying roads with gravel and flowers.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke Khalwale alias the ‘Bull Fighter’ also criticized former Nairobi County boss Dr. Evans Kidero for allegedly spending Sh40 million on the infamous Kidero grass.

“Alfred Mutua who was the Government spokesman collected flowers and gravel to beautify the road and Dr. Kidero spent Sh40 million to put the Kidero grass which is now gone. I am asking the EACC to do an audit of the projects where they will carry out a value for money for them. I am sure the value for money is going to be nil,” Khalwale said.

Khalwale’s criticism follows attacks by other Kenyans who wondered how Mutua tarmacked a road within record time. One of those who faulted Mutua was Lawyer Donald Kipkorir.

“Alfred Mutua is giving people of Machakos painted road and calls it tarmac. It’s time Kenyans demand what is promised. It is called selling snake oil and it is corruption,” Kipkorir wrote.
