The tweet in question was from opposition chief Raila Odinga.

Dr Khalwale had tagged the former Prime Minister on a post where he mocked him for allegedly doing very little about the corruption scandals in the country.

"Honestly? You told us that, like Siamese twins, you and President UhuruKenyatta are conjoined by the handshake! You should therefore not be demanding but announcing to the country that you've dismissed these suspects. Stop the drama and fight corruption," Khalwale posted.

In his tweet, Dr Khalwale attached a 2016 tweet from the former Prime Minister where the ODM leader had called for the resignation of Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge and Accountant GeneralBernard Ndung'u.

His followers noted his embarrassing error for not paying attention to the timeline.

"Perhaps@KBonimtetezi you may not have realized that you are reacting to a January 2016 tweet," tweeted NASA CEO Norman Magaya.

Khalwale later apologized for the error.
