Former Kakamega County Senator Boni Khalwale has condemned a section of National Super Alliance (NASA) Coalition legislators for attempting to swear-in opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The former Senator on Tuesday said that by swearing-in Raila, Kenyans will take all coalition members as jokers.
Khalwale said that the swearing-in is a ‘serious, formal & dignified solemn national issue’ that should not be handled casually.
“I personally believed that swearing in Raila Odinga was a serious, formal & dignified solemn national issue, complete with the constitutional and legal protocol," he said.
"Now with these senators purporting to conduct the exercise in Kakamega, Kenyans must be forgiven if they take us for jokers!” he added.
His remarks come in the midst of soaring levels of political uncertainty when many of NASA supporters wait for Raila to take oath.
